Hi, I'm Dorothy Brown, licensed Insolvency Practitioner and I've been in the business for over 30 years I've helped thousands of individuals and companies through the maze of insolvency and helped them with the stress and difficulties of debt and hopefully given them a way forward in their lives.
The happiness of your client is quite important. Mental and physical health can be affected by debt and stress of that debt and particularly family life can be affected as well.
I had a gentleman who unfortunately is a second time director of an insolvent company. I asked him what had happened through the first time? What were the effects of somebody like me coming along to help him?
The main thing he said to me was he was able to sleep at night. That would appear to be very important to him, and to other people as well I suspect.
So the decline of your director in their business may be such things as cutting thing at random in order to try and make savings.
This will affect their way forward. It gives you an idea that something is wrong and perhaps that help is needed very urgently.
I have another client that I worked with and we went to see him about his electrical business. We said to him you're trading insolvently you need to close the company down. One of the things I always like to ask people, is what are you going to do next? This chap surprised me and turned around and said 'I don't want to be in this business anymore, I want to be a chef'. That's what he went off and did.
So, if you think your client needs to have further help and trying to resolve their debt situation please do contact me.
