Hi, I'm Dorothy Brown I'm a licensed insolvency practitioner for over 30 years now and have dealt with thousands of individuals and companies through the maze of insolvency and relieving them of the pressures of the debt and allowing them to carry on with their lives post insolvency.
I'd like to talk to you about insolvent liquidations and companies coming to the end of their lives.
Quite often this is through creditor pressure as I'm sure you where HM Revenue & Customs can be one of the main ones and the company needs to come to the end and that's sort of where I come involved.
Obviously we need to know whether there are assets in the company, which need to be sold on to third parties quite often.
Let me tell you about a company that I dealt with they had a winding up petition served upon them. That's amazingly difficult to go through and causes a lot of issues.
So the director called me and a team of ladies - as he'd like to say! That is myself, the barrister solicitor and an agent.
We all got together went off to the court, and got the orders that were necessary. It meant that the company was able to continue to trade by being sold to a third party. Then my job was to repay the creditors out of the money.
